It was always meant as a personal coffee journey with an amateur view on things. I'm not claiming to having become a pro overnight, but thats the direction I'm aiming to go.So to mirror this I've started a new blog which is a little bit more professional and the posts will have this Ola Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16158073.post-75660751146893912942007-05-02T21:50:00.000+02:002007-05-02T22:36:53.139+02:00...and so the time flies. No updates for a while as my life has taken a twist and a turn. The turn is towards coffee, and so my posts are hopefully going to be a bit more professional from now on. I'd like to keep the personal touch on things though as that is the way I like to write.I'll update you on what is going on in my new professional life as soon as things are a bit more official, but for now I'll leave it at this.Ola Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16158073.post-1164834357450878802006-11-29T21:12:00.000+01:002006-11-29T22:17:55.213+01:00A coffee-encounter of the third kind Picture taken from the Hacienda Esmeralda in Panama.A little more than month ago my local coffeebar acquired a Clover coffee brewer. For those of you not familiar what a Clover is, I'll describe it briefly. "The Clover 1s is (...) a single-cup, commercial grade coffee brewer (...) which combines two methods considered best for brewing coffee: the “French press” and the vacuum brewer." Not that I have an urgent need because of the lack of freshly roasted beans, but just because the idea of roasting your own coffee is so intriguing.I have run into a problem however. After surfing sites selling green beans, I've found that there is too much to choose from! (Rant alert!)For a while now I've been gradually getting more and more into the world of coffee. I've explored the different aspects of this wonderful beverage. From the plant to the cup a myriad of aspects influence on what the final product tastes like, and this interests me. I still only scraped the surface of the subject but seen enough to want to keep scraping. I don't expect everyone else to be as Ola Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16158073.post-1156103708782197342006-08-20T21:27:00.000+02:002006-08-20T22:02:51.596+02:00Has it really been that long?As I first started to make this blog I promised myself to keep a steady stream of posts... I guess you can say it didn't quite happen. But it's never to late (I hope)! The lack of posts doesn't mean I haven't anything to write about. My coffee-life has been as active as ever. I've been for a while butching myself up to start to try roasting my own beans. I've been collecting recipes and tips at Ola Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16158073.post-1132362821450993142005-11-19T01:53:00.000+01:002006-09-05T10:58:28.080+02:00Guest Blogging From New York CityHey, everybody. This is Mark L. Feinsod. Ola asked me to contribute a few posts now and again. He wanted me to mention a few decent places in New York City to get a great cup of coffee. This isn't always as easy as you'd think, as the incredibly large number of Starbucks everyplace has really done a fair amount to destroy cafe culture in NYC. That said, it isn't dead. Let's start at the topOla Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16158073.post-1129579558942671492005-10-17T21:50:00.000+02:002005-10-17T22:09:26.346+02:00Better late than never...So it took some time for me to write a new entry in my blog. I guess I over estimated my output of articles, but what the hey! This weekend we went to a friends cabin in the mountains, and brought 250g of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffe. We didn't have a grinder but the ground beans kept well the whole trip and it was great coffee! I've read a lot about Yirgacheffe and had high expectations, and they Ola Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16158073.post-1125758708798111052005-09-03T16:44:00.000+02:002005-09-03T16:59:54.183+02:00Todays coffeeToday I've only managed to down two cups of coffe (so far). They were quite nice, though, with rich crema and nice thick microfoam. I've also started using a new batch of beans I bought from my local roaster (called Java) the other day. The blend is called Crescendo and is quite light roasted being for espresso. I always make ristrettos in my coffee-drinks so it's full of taste, and if I drink itOla Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16158073.post-1125603793949185352005-09-01T21:39:00.000+02:002005-09-01T22:07:39.206+02:00Hooray! Hooray! My blog is up today! So this is the very first posting on my weblog. It's a good feeling to finally be able to share with you my thoughts and feelings. I don't know if you feel the same way, but hey, thats ok. You don't have to anyway. I really don't have anything to say, but hooray, hooray my blog is up today! A lot of rhyming, I know, but I do it anyway just because I can! This isn't the standard as to what the Ola Brattåshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08342358860191687203noreply@blogger.com0
